Paul finds his old army officer is leading the investigation of the plane, while Golly consoles Molly after she is diagnosed with a heart condition. Archie abandoned castle at the end of series five in favour of his half-brother Paul (Lloyd Owen), who seemed to have as little luck with the ladies as his brother. Archie and Hector plan to help Toad escape, as Duncan is helping two policemen who are on the lookout for Toad. However, though we as viewers may know that a couple are not saving sex for marriage, we are not going to actually see much of anything.

Meanwhile, Jess, who feels that Golly is taking her for granted, participates in a strongman competition. Paul's uncle Donald arrives in Glenbogle in police custody after being arrested for driving offences.

Ewan wonders whether to stay with girlfriend, Zoe, when he takes a shine to Paul's goddaughter, Amy.

It was also because I know That Which Happens At The End Of Season Two, and I was so not about to put myself through that when there was a danger of not being able to watch the third season. It was, however, a thoroughly entertaining series and over sixty-four episodes it was impossible not to fall for the dotty mix of characters who inhabited Glenbogle and its environs. That is RIDICULOUS and WRONG, but I think Lexie genuinely recognizes that, and I think she takes good steps to resolve it. Duncan tries his pluck up the courage to ask Lexie to the ball, whilst Alan – an old flame of Katrina – arrives back in Glenbogle, with the aim to spite Archie and ruin the ball.

This is because the show is going off Netflix on February 9th *sniffle*, so I knew there was no way I'd be able to squeeze watched 26 episodes of a very feelsy show into a mere couple of weeks. Acorn Media UK produced the original DVDs, but in 2006 a box-set featuring all seven series on 22 discs was produced by the BBC themselves. The series was created by Michael Chaplin and produced by Nick Pitt, Paddy Higson, Jeremy Gwilt, Stephen Garwood and Rob Bullock. Monarch of the Glen was plaid-coloured escapism of the best kind, full of charm and humour but with enough substance to keep more cynical viewers onside.Desperate to save his family's home, Archie pulls out all the stops to persuade the bank to reconsider. Stella is told she can leave Glenbogle, but she has fallen in love with Archie; she sets about ruining the Midsummer's Ball so she can stay. Archie and Lexie are shocked at the response from the family at the announcement of their engagement.

My parents and younger brother and I watched the show in its entirety last year, having previously watched a few seasons several years ago. My first preference would have been for the 1982 version starring Anthony Andrews and Olivia Hussey, as I'd seen clips of that and they looked decent.I'm pretty happy with it, though I may change the sidebar back to the right-hand side, and I might change my profile picture. Kilwillie, who has fallen for Molly, decides he can repay the death duties by marrying Molly, while Lexie learns that Irene is pregnant. Throughout the first three series of the show, while Archie was moping around with uberbitch Justine and droopy Katrina, fans were wishing the dozy young Laird would spot the perfect mate standing at the castle Aga.
