Another main difference is the macro dynamic expression of the P05 is a bit fuller and more alive… so to speak. It’s usable but if you have another cable laying around it may make sense to you to swap this one out. Treble regionThe treble region certainly is emphasized in the upper-mid and lower-treble area which can be a hint peaky on some tracks. In the end, if you would’ve liked to have seen the Cadenza with a hint less vibrancy and bass than I’d say the KB01 is your jam.

Sensitive” by Meghan Trainor on the other hand shows how that pinna gain in the upper midrange might cause a bit of glare as well. There’re also many KZ sets like the KZ D-Fi ( D-Fi Review HERE), the CCA Duo ( Duo Review HERE), the KZ X-HBB PR2 ( PR2 Review HERE) among a few others. Other perspectivesSomething I always make sure to add to the end of the review is that I implore you to seek out other views and opinions about this set. Her voice begins the track mellow and sweet but slowly crescendos into a powerful ballad style when the chorus hits and the KB01 plays it very well.I have had around a month of listening to this set and I have to say that the KB01 is going to compete very well against the competition. Bass RegionThe KBear Storm most certainly has an elevated low-end which center around the mid-bass and extends pretty far into the lower midrange.

The cable is a gold toned 4 core twisted chain link designed cable with a total length of around 130. The midrange of the Cadenza is of course thicker, but I find the KB01 may have a bit better separation.

A good DD driver will be able to separate kickdrum and bass guitar well, just like the DD inside KBEar Storm.

Do be wary of using high gain on these as IEMs in general are quite sensitive and may introduce audible noise floor. Because of the bleeding lows, layering and imaging suffer a little on track with looming bass notes, otherwise it is quite decent in being distinct with other sound sources(again, excluding low sounding source) whilst the staging is just average. This set is a far cry from the usual hyper boosted upper mids section we frequently encounter at the budget CHIFI segment. All in all, it is definitely capable in terms of technicalities, but the overly aggressive stance is not going gather support for it. After removing the initial cardboard, the IEM drivers immediately greet you whilst being covered by a clear plastic layer and are enclosed with foam. Meanwhile, on female vocals especially on contralto like Andrea Corr, Tracy Chapman and Annie Lennox has this rich, warmer and heavy on their voice quality, Mezzo-sopranos are rather a bit transparent that it has a lack of consistency and too smooth in my liking as I want a more musky and darker one.

The shells are in small sizes so that it fits well in my lug holes without any issues like soreness and discomfort that is usually associated with listening fatigue in some IEMs with larger shells. Secondary harmonics of cymbals and hi-hats have a decent trail-off which proves the Storm does have decent extension past 8k. Rated at an impedance of 32-ohms and a sensitivity of 108 decibels, the Storm worked great from a decent Dongle Dac. Downsides to the MidrangeAs far as troubles in the midrange, I think the biggest issue I could identify would be note weight. The included cable was not as impressive though, it tangles relatively easily and isn’t that well made. The perfect pair of earphones, those that disagree with my opinion should be dismissed immediately as they be haters. I’m not a huge fan of the treble tuning as that 9kHz spike hits precisely at a point where I am sensitive and to my ear, that needs some EQ to be usable. I have no financial interest in KBear or any of its resellers, nor have they had any input into the content of this review. The KB01 it is built by way of 3D printing using medical grade resin and there isn’t a glue spot, burr, jagged edge or miss-alignment… Anywhere.
