I think I still would have loved for more examples on how the practicality may look like in real life. They teach us how to transform negative thoughts into new, more positive thinking patterns that’ll help us lead happier and healthier lives. Leaf combines her wisdom on the workings of the mind with real-life explanations that show us how all this science really does affect our everyday choices, health, and ultimately our entire life.

Instead of scrolling through your social media news feed, this is a much better way to spend your spare time in my opinion. She developed the Geodesic Learning™ theory (how we think and process information) that has been conservatively shown to increase thinking, behavioral and academic performance by 35-75%. Caroline Leaf is part of my healing, I have t do the work and even though I’ve learned a lot I’ve found it a real challenge to stick to the 21 day detox enough to reap the full benefits. In just 21 days, you can start to clean up your mental mess and be on the road to wholeness, peace, and happiness. Her scientific Science of Thought techniques have transformed the lives of patients with Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), learning disabilities, emotional traumas and released the potential of thousands of young students and adults. One of the difficult things about trauma is that we’re left wondering why the traumatic event happened. If I want to go over how a scientific experiment was done, the best way for me to do that is sit down with the actual paper.

Of course I am still totally able to apply what I learned in this book to my faith and way of life as a Christian, but I do wish Dr. I have just finished this book and I am so excited to begin applying the practices to my everyday routines. My guess is that if you've taken the time to purchase it, then you already think it could be useful.

A great way to understand the power of mind management is by envisioning mental mess as a car crash. I haven’t finished reading it yet but based on what I have read so far, and based on Caroline’s previous work, I whole heartedly recommend everyone to get this book. So, even though you are the one who has to sit with the thoughts that make you feel so much pain or frustration that you will do anything to avoid them, that you are the one who has to deal with those “would have, should have, could have, if only” thoughts that affect your wellbeing, that you are the one who has to hear the endless round of shame and hatred in your head that makes you think less of yourself, and that you are the one being crippled by all those intrusive thoughts, you also have the power to change ALL of this. It is easy to read, has scientific knowledge in it, of course, but it is not bogged down with concepts that are out of an ordinary reader’s grasp.

This book gives you paradigm-shifting insight on the brain, how it works, and how you can become an empowered participant in creating new neural pathways. While her newest publication from Baker Books has a bit of a contentious title (it is not something I can easily give as a gift without offending the recipient! I am a fan of anything that promotes positivity and this defnitely has some good points and viable tactics, but nothing particularly original and so much of the book felt like a commercial for the author's app and other books. The techniques taught in Caroline’s work have allowed me to work on myself in new ways that allow me to be more calm, clear and compassionate.

In Cleaning Up Your Mental Mess , she teaches you how to make the most of your powerful mind and take back control over your thinking to live your best life and reach your full potential. It can be as disturbing as war or a more day-to-day experience like bullying, illness, or infidelity. She is the author of Switch On Your Brain, Think and Eat Yourself Smart, The Perfect You , and Think, Learn, Succeed , among many other books and journal articles, and her videos, podcasts, and TV episodes have reached millions globally.
