Cass Art, Cass Art London and the Cass Art logo are trade marks and trade names of Art-Line Limited. In the video you will see I didn't have clamps long enough for the size of wood so I built a simple jig to hold everything in place. Notice that I first set the inkjet image with acrylic varnish spray to avoid getting it blurred with the watery ingredient in either the Mod Podge or in white glue (Gel medium gave me the worst results).

This is a technique I teach with my photography students which can instantly transform a photo into a work of art. Choose from the range of Printy or Professional line stamps that best suits your needs, either a standard word or phrase stamp, a date stamp or a numberer. Well, I’m a little obsessed with transferring photos to different surfaces and figuring out which methods work best. If I compare the decal method with decoupage using Mod Podge I it seems to me that the decal method is a lot more work for a very similar result. You will immediately notice that Mod Podge Photo Transfer Medium is much thicker in consistency than regular Mod Podge.Maybe if you try this trick with your inkjet images before applying the Photo transfer medium you may also get a sharp image out of the inkjet print. Once you get the hang of the process you can customise your process to achieve a range of different outcomes! You're commenting on a photo transfer post, so if you're doing a photo transfer, no it can't be double sided.

Transferring a photo onto just about any surface such as wood, metal, glass, terra cotta and even fabric is so easy to do using Mod Podge Photo Transfer Medium! Begin to rub over wet paper lightly; the excess paper should dissolve away from the backside of the treated image.

It should be printed from an ink jet printer on regular paper, not photo paper), scissors (cut away and white space of your printed picture), parchment paper and your wood board (mine is actually the cover of an old hamper found at a yard sale. The packaging also states that the transfers can be made on fabric or with a decal method for “hard surfaces such as glass, ceramic, metal or clay”. The photo transfer mod podge will transfer the whites in your photo, whereas using normal mod podge turns the whites in your photo clear, allowing the wood grain to show through any white space. Not pictured is regular Mod Podge in matte finish, a sanding block, sponge and dark wax (I used Miss Mustard Seed’s). If your image has words on it, create a reversed photocopy so that the text will read correctly on your final project.

Transfer color and black-and-white photocopies to any decoupage project surface such as wood, fabric, canvas, and more. Once again the Mod Podge Photo Transfer medium was comparatively very labor intensive but I didn’t see any clear advantages. The one thing I have noticed is that if I wait a few days before starting to rub off the paper it seems to work before.Use this formula on hard surfaces to create personalized pieces like coasters and plaques or use on fabric to make a memorable blanket and pillow. First you will need something to mount it to, in the video I made a mount by gluing pallet boards together but you can use any kind of timber or sheet material such as plywood, you could even cut old tabletops to shape and use those. I did a little crafting this weekend – in attempt to bring some Spring to my kitchen – a little something brighter – by creating some rustic art using Mod Podge Photo Transfer Medium. It’s also one of the formulas that I get the most questions about, so I thought I’d share some tips about using this medium to do a photo transfer with you.
