Heylin observes that Dylan was in a position to throw a lot of money at the case, “which was presumably the motivation of his accuser… forlornly hoping that other teary-eyed tramps might come forth to corroborate his predatory paedophilia. Her unhinged and completely unethical stalking finally lead to a potential payoff - will Claire be able to discover if her father is alive or dead, and if alive. You begin to understand his obfuscation as the behaviour of someone tormented by other people’s attempts to dissect him. Claire has no boundaries and no conscience about how she will learn the truth about her father, and even inserts herself into his former circle of friends by lying about her identity. Both narratives exude a palpable sense of menace as the two women find themselves becoming progressively more isolated and vulnerable.

A time traveller who came to the past on a mission to save the future but must live their life without revealing anything to anyone. A powerful additive is her father is a Lord from the United Kingdom hierarchy, which was thought that his privileged friends aided and abetted him.She is also the daughter of the most notorious murder suspect in the country, though no one knows it. Sounes pointed out how overlong and baggy Heylin’s Dylan books are (he’s written 13): “All he knows is how to tell me what Visions of Johanna means in his mind. Only in the seclusion of her bedroom is her imagination freed: each day of deception is followed by a night of dreams described in soaring verse. Flynn Berry's debut novel Under the Harrow was one of the more pleasant reading surprises I've had this year; I felt like I'd found a hidden gem that ticked all of my thriller boxes (atmospheric, dark, is more of a character study than a fast-paced page-turner).

I was fascinated by the premise: A marriage counselor who had no idea that her own marriage was a sham, and her husband a psychopath. That aside, we begin promisingly enough with Gabriela settling into the FCO and Isobel's rather dysfunctional lifestyle as a reporter in Camden. The father may have murdered the nanny and tried to murder the ex wife, he had possibly been spotted several times over the years after he disappeared, the daughter befriends someone who may have info and tries to find him and then there is a little bit left to the story after that.
